Sauk Valley, IL (8/2/2011) – The Sauk Valley Predators announce Greg Ktistou as their new head coach. Ktistou comes to the Predator Organization with over 10 years of coaching experience. Ktistou attended and played basketball at Eastern Illinois University and Carthage College. In addition, he played professional basketball for five seasons in Greece. Greg has coached at Downers Grove North HS, Hinsdale South HS, and Downers Grove South HS. Ktistou was also head coach of the Illinois Kings AAU program from 2002-2009, a program that won three state championships and finished 13th in the country. Coach Ktistou currently resides in Downers Grove, IL, along with his wife Michele.
“Greg will be a great addition to our organization,” Sauk Valley Predator Owner Brad Grenoble said. “We are confident our players and fans will see the ambition and drive he has to lead the team to great success.”
The Sauk Valley Predators are gearing up for their inaugural season in the Premier Basketball League in 2012 and are in the process of bringing on an experienced management group for the team. Coach Ktistou was the first addition to the coaching staff and the Predators organization is looking to make additional coaching and management announcements in the coming months.
“My wife and I are very excited to get to know the people of the Sauk Valley area and become part of the community,” Ktistou said. “We will make Sauk Valley proud both on and off the court.”
All professional caliber athletes interested in trying out for the Predator program should visit the PBL website for more information on the national combine. The Predators join the Rochester RazorSharks, Team Scranton Wilkes-Barre, the Chicago Muscle, and the Dayton Air Strikers for the 2012 season. The PBL will announce the final teams for its fifth season of play throughout the summer months.
