Grand Rapids To Kick Off PBL Preview Against Lake Michigan
February 20, 2014
Chicago, IL- Michigan’s newest addition to the Premier Basketball League will be kick-starting their 2015 inaugural season a little early with a few select exhibition games to give the fans a sneak preview of what is coming.
“A storm is coming, and the Cyclones are excited about putting a product on the court that the people of Grand Rapids can get behind,” said Owner and CEO of the Cyclones, Adam Chrisco.
The Grand Rapids Cyclones will be hosting the Lake Michigan Admirals on February 25th at the Delptaplex Arena. The Admirals have been in the PBL since 2012 and are currently third place in the Midwest division with a 4-3 record.
“Not to make too big of a deal about this upcoming game, but it’s truly historic. We have the opportunity to create memories and experiences that will last a lifetime. It’s not only what it means for us personally, but what this teams for the city of Grand Rapids,” Chrisco said.
One of the many professional teams Chrisco played for during his career was the Lake Michigan Admirals, so fans can expect a highly competitive game.
Tickets went on sale for the game dating back to January 16th so the number of empty seats is expecting to be minimal. To purchase tickets online for the Cyclones game go to www.deltaplex.com, or call the Deltaplex Arena at (616) 364-9400.

Florence, SC- The Pee Dee Vipers have signed former Springfield Armor player and 6'4" guard, Tahj Tate. Tate played at Delaware State University before being drafted by the NBA Development-League for the 2013-14 season. He trained with the NBA's Washington Wizards before being traded. Tate's season with the Armor ended after a minor injury.
Tate will be another lethal-scoring combo guard for the Vipers and will play this weekend on the road against Lynchburg. He is originally from Easley, SC.
Vipers General Manager, Sharone Wright said, "Tajh is a player that we targeted before training camp started, but he was drafted by the D-league after impressive workouts with the Wizards. He's a big guard that we really need in the second half of our season, which is the toughest. And we'll need him in the playoffs. He can defend bigger guards and he can post smaller guards."
