Hall led the team on defense with 14 rebounds.
“We’ve got to go in strong and control the next game from the start,” said 716ers coach Tawan Slaughter.

Pee Dee Vipers Looking to Restart Winning Streak
Florence, SC- The Pee Dee Vipers will be looking for their first rebound victory in quite some time.
Last Sunday, March 2nd the Vipers fell short to the Bloomington Flex with the final score of 97-82. This was Pee Dee’s lowest scoring game of the season and their first loss since January 11th to the Rochester Razorsharks.
James Helton led the Vipers on the scoring front with 24 points but was only 9-for-21 from the field.
Luckily, the Vipers next opponent is one they will feel pretty confident against. Pee Dee has won all four matches against the Lynchburg Titans so far this season and outscored them 513-396.
The Titans (0-7) are also yet to win a game this season and Pee Dee will have the home-court advantage.
The game Saturday, March 8th will be held at the Florence Civic Center. Tip-off will at 7 p.m.
Rochester to Host Saturday Matinee Game
Rochester, NY- The Rochester Razorsharks will play host to the Erie Hurricane this Saturday, March 8, at 1:00 p.m. at the Blue Cross Arena.
The Razorsharks (12-1) have won 11 straight games and are in first place in the East Division of the Premier Basketball League.
The Hurricane, led by head coach Anthony Green, are 1-8 on the season and recently won their first game of their 2014 campaign on March 1, against the Buffalo 716ers, 116-108.
Rochester is 4-0 against Erie this season, with the averaging score being Rochester 131.5 – Erie 94.3. One of Rochester’s victories over Erie was 152-63, the 89 points was the largest margin of victory in Razorsharks history.
Erie’s owner and team president Tawan Slaughter had a message to the Razorsharks about this up-coming game, “We are coming into Rochester this weekend to get the win, we lost by only 6 last time, we are looking for revenge this time”.
Erie will need to play a top notch game, the ‘Sharks are clicking on all cylinders right now and the whole team is contributing for Rochester. Rochester has seven players averaging double figures in points per game and their bench is averaging an outstanding 67 points per game.
One player that Erie will need to bring his “A game” is forward Lester Jones. Jones is third in the PBL in total points scored with 230 and is averaging over 28 points per game so far this season.
Razorsharks starting small forward Dane Miller has been filling up the stat sheet this season averaging 13 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 assists per game. Miller was asked if he goes into a specific game looking to carry the scoring load or be more of a distributor, “I just play the game and let it come to me. I can do both (score and distribute), but I would say I like to distribute more because that makes the game easier for myself and my teammates as well. I love making the guys I’m playing with better”.
Rochester’s front court players have been the beneficiaries of Miller’s passing. Ayodele Coker, Chaz Crawford, and Darren Moore each had a double-double in their last win over the Lynchburg Titans. It was Coker’s second straight game with at least 14 points and 13 rebounds.
Razorsharks head coach Lawrence Moten was asked about keeping his team focused and on edge during their long winning streak, “I’m not worried about my guys focus, for the simple fact that every day in practice I tell these guys to prepare for one game at a time. In basketball, if you don’t truly come to play, any team can be beaten. Our guys are going to be prepared, we had a great week of practice, and that hopefully will lead to another victory this Saturday”.
The Razorsharks next home is March 15, again against Erie. While the Hurricane will travel back to Erie to take on the Buffalo 716ers the next night, March 9.
Flex Set to Log More Miles with Weekend Road Trip
By Craig Fata
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – After traveling nearly 1,700 miles through seven states last weekend in a swing through Virginia and South Carolina, the 11-0 Bloomington Flex get to enjoy another road trip this weekend, visiting the Indianapolis Diesels on Saturday and the Lima Express on Sunday.
The travel didn’t seem to bother the Flex, as they came away with impressive wins over the Lynchburg Titans and Pee Dee Vipers, East Division teams they had yet to encounter.
The Flex open this weekend with a familiar foe, the 6-3 Indianapolis Diesels, which sit at second place in the Midwest Division, four games back of the Flex. The Flex have beaten the Diesels in all three previous meetings this season, and the Diesels are winless against the Flex in thirteen meetings since the clubs joined the Premier Basketball League in 2012. Jermaine Dearman leads Indianapolis in scoring at nearly 19 points per game.
Sunday, the Flex travel to Lima, Ohio for their first-ever meeting with the expansion Lima Express. Lima boasts three 20-point-per-game scorers in Austin Bryant (21.6), Xavier Blount (20.6) and Kyle Meyer (20.0), who are among seven players averaging in double figures. Lima (3-4) is six games back of the Flex in the Midwest Division.
Bloomington’s leading scorer, Chris Singletary, has seen his average drop a few points after a couple quiet outings, but is still netting an impressive 23.1 per game. Nate Fuqua, meanwhile, has upped his average to 18.7 per game after a productive weekend which included a 30-point effort against Lynchburg.
Both of this weekend’s games can be heard live on WJBC.com. The Flex return home Saturday, March 15, with a 1:05 p.m. C.D.T. contest against the Express.
