The 2015 PBL Community Service Team of the Year Award goes to the Lake Michigan Admirals. The Premier Basketball League focuses not only on the game, but also on what their teams are doing off the court to give back to their community. The PBL recognizes the Admirals as an outstanding organization dedicated to giving back to their community in every way possible. Throughout the season they visited numerous places in the community including: pediatric departments, elementary schools, senior centers, high schools, and many others in-between. Their commitment to the community is extraordinary and has not gone unnoticed.

The All PBL Defensive Team of the 2015 season consists of 5 talented individuals who showed an outstanding performance on the defensive end of the court throughout the season. All five of these individuals had consistant blocks, steals and rebounds to help their teams secure the most wins possible. In basketball, like most competitive sports, it’s defense that wins games. Congratulations to Troy Franklin Jr and Courtney Blackmore of the Lake Michigan Admirals, Anthony Stover of the Rochester RazorSharks, Shakir Johnson of the Carolina Pee Dee Vipers, and Ayron Worthington of the Danville Riverhawks.

The PBL Second Team of the 2015 season includes some of the best players in the PBL. Each one of these players were an asset to their team both on defense and offense. They showed tremendous talent throughout the season and helped to lead their team to multiple wins. Congratulations to Corey Allmond and Jerice Crouch of the Rochester Razorsharks, Nate Barfield of the Lake Michigan Admirals, Kyle Meyer of the Ohio Lima Express, and Thomas Cobbs of the Racine Storm.

On Monday, May 4th Members of Rochester RazorSharks family attended the 66th Annual Press Radio Club Day of Champions Children’s Charities Dinner. The Guest of Honor at the dinner was NFL running back Demarco Murray, NFL Defensive Player of the Year, who received the Coca-Cola Sports Personality of the Year Award. Among other guests at the event were a few representatives of the Rochester Razorsharks including:  Dr. Sev Hrywnak, Coach Robert Spon, Assistant Coach Chris Iverson, Jerice Crouch, Melvin Council, and Casey Sheehan. Dr Sev Hrywnak on behalf of the Rochester Razorsharks had the privilege of presenting the Coach of the Year Award to R.I.T. College Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Jake Coon.

Since the Press-Radio Club started in 1949, it has donated more than a million dollars to Rochester-area charities. The Day of Champions Dinner is a charity event to recognize outstanding sports members in the community for their efforts in a wide range of sporting events. The Press Radio Club hosts The Day of Champions Dinner every year and includes a silent auction to raise money for children’s charities. The Razorsharks have been major supporters, year after year of this event and always seek to give back to the community when they can. This year the Rochester Razorsharks donated a trip to Chicago for the silent auction. This trip included airfare, hotel, a limo ride, dinner, and 2 tickets to a Bulls or Blackhawks game.
