Before Clark played professional basketball in Erie, he was a Criminal Justice major at Tompkins Cortland Community College for two years and then would attend Fredonia State University where he also played basketball.
PBL: How did this all lead to you becoming a Globetrotter?
TC: My close friend Josh Delfino, who currently is a member of the Washington Generals (the team the Globetrotters play against) put in a good word for me to management a while back. I had a private workout in front of one of the coaches. They were in favor of me and told me to expect a phone call in the future.
PBL: Have you begun practices with the Globetrotters?
TC: The first day I flew out, I played in a game. I was extremely nervous because I didn’t know what to expect. The guys on the team did a great job guiding me through the show and explaining what I would need to do.
PBL: How do you feel your rookie season in Erie went this year?
TC: It was a good experience. I learned a lot and to play at a higher level was humbling. I was happy with my play despite my playing and being a rookie.
PBL: How will it differ playing as a Globetrotter compared to the PBL, and how did the PBL prepare you for such an opportunity?
TC: The difference between playing in the PBL and the Globetrotters is the competitiveness. The Globetrotters is more of a show and concentrates on entertainment.
PBL: Did you watch the Globetrotters growing up?
TC: I loved the Globetrotters as I was growing up. I remember going to their shows when they came to my hometown of Elmira, NY. I never would’ve thought that one day I would become one of them.
PBL: What was it like to hear the news to become a Globetrotter?
TC: When I received the phone call I was in shock. When they told me to expect a call back when I had the workout, I told myself it was too good to be true. But when I actually received the call I was beyond excited. It’s truly a blessing to be able to experience something like this.
PBL: Outside of playing basketball what do you like to do?
TC: I just like to relax and watch basketball. I’m a huge fan of the game.
PBL: Anything you’d like to say, or special person you’d like to thank?
TC: First of all, I want to thank God. Without him, none of this would be possible. I just want to thank my family and friends who’ve stuck with me through the ups and downs. All of my basketball coaches as well. They’ve pushed me to become better, not only as a player, but as a person. A special thank you to Josh Delfino for the recommendation, if it wasn’t for him they wouldn’t have known my abilities.
