Courtney Blackmore, Lake Michigan Admirals

Despite a 156-159 double-overtime loss to the Racine Storm, the Lake Michigan Admirals did have some sunshine break through the storm.

Courtney Blackmore of the Lake Michigan Admirals was named the PBL Player of the Week after he put up a triple-double in their loss to Racine.

Blackmore was one of six players players on the Admirals to score 20+ points, but what helped him stand out and play a special part on his team was his 11 assists, 14 rebounds and five steals, which was second on the team.

The 2013-14 PBL Defensive Player of the Year is the team's overall highest scoring player of the year thus far. After 14 games played he leads the team with 21.6 points per game average and is second on the team in almost every other major category possible.

He's second on the team in the following categories:
Steals: 49
Assists: 54
Blocks: 10

He is also fourth on the team in rebounds with a whopping 119. His increased on the court skills and leadership abilities have played a major role in the Admirals division-leading 11-4 record with a strong sign of making the post-season for the first time since joining the PBL.

The Danville Riverhawks (7-9) continued their successful run last night when they defeated the Racine Storm (10-4) by one-point, for a 127-126 final score.

The Riverhawks victory extended their winning streak to three games and have won four out of their last five, with that single loss coming from the Racine Storm by five.

Danville showed a great team-effort with four players scoring 21 or more points, led by Lavell McDade who scored 24 points and a perfect 5-5 from the free-throw line. However, the true star player for the Riverhawks was clearly Widgett Washington. Washington put up a double-double after he scored 23 points and had 10 assists, while also bringing in seven total rebounds.

As for the Storm, team effort could arguably be the cause for their loss last night. Thomas Cobbs scored 33 points and Anthony Spencer was right behind him with 30 points. However, they were the only players to reach the 20-point mark and were two of only five players to reach 10 or more points in general.

This was the Riverhawks first victory in their three-game series.

#GetCourtneyToEllen A Success

Courtney Wagner, a 17-year old Canandiagua High School senior who has been battling stage-four brain cancer for the last three and a half years, was a member of the RazorSharks team and scored the first basket in the 152-98 victory over the Philadelphia Flight, who dropped to 2-6 and fourth place in the PBL East.

Following Saturday's game, fans everywhere were tweeting #GetCourtneyToEllen all over Twitter and Facebook to help Courtney meet her long-time idol, Ellen DeGeneres.

Then on Wednesday, March 4th her other dream came true, and she would not only get to meet Ellen DeGeneres, but she would also be a guest on the show.
