Week 10 of the Premier Basketball League starts bright and early with an epic Thursday night match-up between the Rochester RazorSharks and the Carolina Pee Dee Vipers. Following the PBL East showdown on Thursday will be a surprisingly important battle in the Midwest. The Grand Rapids Cyclones, who are currently in the basement of the Midwest have pulled off impressive victories against the first place Lake Michigan Admirals, and most recently the fourth place Lima Express.

A home-and-home series between the Buffalo 716ers (3-6) and the Erie Hurricane (2-5) could be critical in a battle for fourth place and in a tight battle for the PBL East Wild Card spot. Buffalo is on one of the coldest streaks in the league after dropping four games in a row, and six out of their last seven. In an attempt to turn the team around, 716ers owner Tawan Slaughter recently released four players, including Kelvin Agee.

PBL Player of the Week
Courtney Blackmore,
Lake Michigan Admirals

To close out the month of January, the Lake Michigan Admirals made sure to go out with a bang. Leading the pack for them is this week's PBL Player of the Week, Courtney Blackmore.

In a 121-106 victory over the Lima Express, Blackmore scored a whopping 31 points to lead the team's offensive drive. However, he also managed to tally eight assists, 10 total rebounds and five steals. His skills and strong hand-eye was able to sink over 50% of his shots, but it was drive, determination and ability to keep the ball out of his opponents hands that was able to give Lake Michigan a little cushion to win a big divisional match-up.

Many fans around the league will remember Blackmore after winning the 2014 PBL Defensive Player of the Year award. He has not slowed down and continues to help win games for his team.
PBL Game of the Week
Rochester RazorSharks @ Carolina Vipers
Thursday, February 4th at 6:45pm (ET)

The undefeated Rochester RazorSharks (8-0) will hit the road to take on the challenging Carolina Pee Dee Vipers (8-1) who are in second place in the PBL East and in the entire league.

The Vipers dropped their season opener against the RazorSharks when they received a 55-point pounding in a 132-77 loss. Pee Dee has since gone on to win nine straight games, including one out-of-league exhibition game.

Although they are currently on a hot streak, it did not stop owner Kevin Summers and general manager Sharone Wright from making adjustments in their roster to make the team even stronger. This included the Vipers release of 2014 PBL Rookie of the Year, Jamal Francis.
