PBL GAME OF THE WEEK:
Racine Storm @ Danville Riverhawks, Sunday, December 18th @ 4:00pm
The Premier Basketball League "Game of the Week" heads out to the Midwest this week. In a battle between the Racine Storm (2-2) and the Danville Riverhawks (1-2) the PBL "Game of the Week" looks to be a thriller.
The Riverhawks are coming off their first victory of the year after defeating the Grand Rapids Cyclones, 127-124, in what was a very intense overtime. On the other side of the ball, Racine split a home-and-home series with the defending Midwest Division champion Indianapolis Diesels with the home team being victories in each game.
Danville will continue to rely on their secondary players after losing Cedirc Ridle with a broken hand. This will start with Fred Gardner, who in three games has 56 points, 16 assists, eight steals and 30 total rebounds. Another player for the Storm will have to try to tame will be Jerron Jameson with 51 points and 12 rebounds in three games.
Racine has had some slightly better luck that Danville and will be starting their top scorer who also ranks amongst the top in the PBL. Averaging 28 points per game, Anthony Spencer has 112 points in four games, making him the Storm's biggest offensive threat to opponents. However, he also is the guy to eliminate opponents second-chance opportunities and gives them to his own team. Spencer also leads the team with 40 total rebounds.
With a fiery attitude and dedication on both sides of the ball, plus some of the best talent around the rim, there is no doubt the PBL Game of the Week is going to be one of the biggest of the season.
