PBL Season Is Nearing With Opening Schedule

The Premier Basketball League's opening day is just over a month away. On December 6th the first set of games will be played to open the season. Here's a look in at the four match ups.

Lake Michigan vs. Racine:
Only one game will be played from the Midwest Division on opening day. One of the league's newest expansion teams, the Racine Storm, will go to the home of one of the league's most historic and successful teams, the Lake Michigan Admirals. Owner of the Admirals, Chris Glisson, has a knack for finding and exposing some incredible talent. Last year's PBL Defensive Player of the Year, Courtney Blackmore, was on the Admirals, and Glisson sent a dozen players to further their professional careers with major contracts overseas.

Philadelphia vs. Erie
The Philadelphia Flight was the only team added to the PBL's East Division during the off-season. Owner of the Flight, Kenneth Bishop, will hope to make a strong impression against the team that finished last place in the league last year, the Erie Hurricane.

Rochester vs. Carolina Pee Dee
The defending champions, the Rochester RazorSharks, will face off against last year's second place team in the East, the Carolina Pee Dee Vipers. The Vipers, managed by former NBA player, Sharone Wright, and volunteer assistant coach, Xavier "X-Man" McDaniels, who is an NBA legend, are expected to have another powerhouse team. Look for a real tight game between the Vipers and RazorSharks.

Buffalo vs. Lynchburg
The Buffalo 716ers brought the comeback story of the year last season. At 2-7 the 716ers season looked to be a season of woes and early preparation for next year. However, they pulled out a strong six-game winning streak and even scored 153 points in a single game on March 15th. Owner of the 716ers, Tawan Slaughter, has made some strong moves during the off-season and is expected to start where they left off last season.
Biggest Impact in the NBA

The NBA is only five days away from kicking off their season and fans are anxiously waiting on their seats.

One of the biggest stories for the NBA was Lebron James return to his home state after winning a couple championships in Miami. "I'm Coming Home" was the story title where Lebron sat in his suit, looking at the viewers
and giving the background why he decided to come back to his home state and hope to help the Cleveland Cavaliers win an NBA title.

Now, in The Windy City, the Chicago Bulls had their own stories circling around them. Though they did not receive Knicks' star, Carmelo Anthony, they did pick up Pau Gasol from the Los Angeles Lakers. Plus, the Bulls hope that star guard Derrick Rose can stay healthy for an entire season for the first time since 2010-11.
PBL Preseason Tournament

Fans get ready for the Premier Basketball League's first ever preseason tournament.

The 2014 PBL Thanksgiving Classic will bring two veteran teams; the Buffalo 716ers and the four-time PBL champion Rochester RazorSharks, as well as two of the league's newest expansion teams, the Grand Rapids Cyclones and the Philadelphia Flight together for a preseason charity tournament.

The games will be held at the 716ers home venue and proceeds from the tournament will go to Variety Children's Charity.

The first two games will both have a veteran team playing against one of the new expansion teams to start the tournament, which could help these expansion teams better prepare for the season.
