PBL Alum Joins NBA's 76ers
The Philadelphia 76ers added experience and knowledge with their recent addition of Rob Baker to their front office.
Baker, who is a three-time Coach of the Year winner while in the Premier Basketball League, has furthered his career into the NBA after seven successful years in the PBL and 12 years in professional basketball.
In 2005, Baker would begin his seven-year tenure in the PBL as the head coach of the Rochester RazorSharks, and would go on to win three championship titles in 2008, 2009 and 2011. Each of those years he would go on to win the league’s Coach of the Year award.
He would then go on to further his career into the NBA Development League as an assistant coach for the Bakersfield Jam and helped lead his team to the top of the Western Conference standings after winning 72-percent of their games.
In 2013, Baker had the opportunity to run his own team again as head coach for the Delaware 87ers, the farm team for the 76ers.
