PBL Alum Joins NBA's 76ers

The Philadelphia 76ers added experience and knowledge with their recent addition of Rob Baker to their front office.
Baker, who is a three-time Coach of the Year winner while in the Premier Basketball League, has furthered his career into the NBA after seven successful years in the PBL and 12 years in professional basketball.
In 2005, Baker would begin his seven-year tenure in the PBL as the head coach of the Rochester RazorSharks, and would go on to win three championship titles in 2008, 2009 and 2011. Each of those years he would go on to win the league’s Coach of the Year award.
He would then go on to further his career into the NBA Development League as an assistant coach for the Bakersfield Jam and helped lead his team to the top of the Western Conference standings after winning 72-percent of their games.
In 2013, Baker had the opportunity to run his own team again as head coach for the Delaware 87ers, the farm team for the 76ers.

Daniel Artest, of the PBL's Indianapolis Diesels, is currently playing in one of the biggest and best overseas tournaments in the world.

Artest is a member of the Tracy McGrady All Star team competing over in China. The 14-game tournament is spread out over the period of a month and competes against some of the best players in the world, including former NBA competitors.

"My role on this team is simple. Play strong defense and rebound," stated Artest.

Daniel has been doing just that and a standout job at that we would like to add. He's averaging approximately eight points and eight rebounds per game while playing an average 19 minutes per game.

"So far I've shut down highly touted American imports. Former NBA player Ike Diogu and Chinese basketball legend Charles Gaines," said Artest of his success so far.

The McGrady All Star team is currently 5-0, but has had their work cut out for them with competitors such as Mike Beasley, Al Harrington and Daniel's brother, Metta World Peace.

With major locations already set in Bakersfield, San Francisco, Boston, Las Vegas and most recently Chicago, the number of viewers available to this season’s PBL games will be reaching new highs.

“We are very excited for the opportunity to partner with a major broadcasting program such as TheCoolTV,” stated Dennis Truax, Commissioner of the PBL. “To give fans such a resourceful way to watch their local teams is an incredible feeling."
