How Well Do You Know Him?
Get To Know Michael "Mighty Man" Tyler of the Racine Storm
On August 23rd the Premier Basketball League (PBL) summer combine came to a conclusion and teams began putting more power and speed into preparing their teams for the upcoming 2014-15 season.
The percentage of returning teams to this year's season is outstanding. However, we wanted to have a fun Q&A session with one of the expansion team owners to help fans, players and fellow members around the league learn a little bit about one of the newest members of the PBL family. This week our selection comes from the PBL's Midwest Division, Michael Tyler, owner of the Racine Storm.
PBL: First year in the PBL, who do you guesstimate could be the Storm's biggest rival?
MT: Based upon the banter that is going back and forth, Danville will be our biggest trash-talking rival. However, and not to knock anyone specifically, we feel our biggest competitive rival will be the Indianapolis Diesels.
PBL: Besides basketball, what is your favorite sport and team?
MT: The cheese heads will not like this, but I am a big time Chicago Bears fan. I am also a huge supporter of my college football, basketball and baseball programs- the University of Louisiana at Monroe Warhawks.
PBL: Favorite superhero?
MT: Was always a Mighty Mouse fan.
PBL: More entertaining duo: Scooby and Shaggy or Peter Griffin and the chicken?
MT: From a duo standpoint, I have to go with Scooby and Shaggy.
PBL: Michael Jordan or Lebron James
MT: Hmmm, hard to compare the two, as their games are different. In the end, Michael Jordan.
PBL: Who was your idol growing up?
MT: I grew up idolizing my parents, which instilled the work ethic I have now. From a celebrity perspective, Walter Payton
PBL: Something you'd like the fans to know about you:
MT: We are building the Racine Storm under the Ricky Bobby philosophy that, "if you ain't first, you're last".
