Owner of the Month (February)

Chris Glisson:
Glisson is the owner of the Lake Michigan Admirals and is a life-long resident of southwestern Michigan. He was born in Grand Rapids in 1968 as the youngest of five children to his parents Reverend Eugene and Wanda Glisson. He graduated from Coloma High School in 1987 where he was an outstanding student-athlete playing four years of varsity baseball, football and basketball.

Chris also played all four years of baseball and football for Olivet College in the MIAA Conference. He graduated in 1992 with a Bachelor's Degree in health, physical education and recreation.

He started his business in basketball when he became a part-owner of the Knoxville Thunderbolts with his brother Dr. Marty Glisson back in 2008. In their inaugural season Dr. Marty became very ill and had to move back to San Diego, CA, leaving Glisson to run the team for the remainder of the year. His team still finished eighth and Chris was named Executive of the Year Runner-Up.

In 2009, the Lake Michigan Admirals were formed and Glisson was named Executive of the Year. The Admirals are very true to the PBL mission statement. Since joining the PBL the Admirals have reached out to and visited over 120 schools, 47 churches and helped raise over $140,000 for charities.

The Lake Michigan Admirals have also gone international to show off their talent, playing two years in a row against the Olympians in China.

Chris has had almost 40 players move on to the next level and sign overseas contracts. Most recently that would include Desmond Wade signing in Canada, Florentino Valencia to a league in Puerto Rico and star player Odgra Bobo to Iraq.

Chris has been married for over 20 years to his wife Sara, and they have two daughters Chelsea and Savana.
