Meet Xavier Blount:

1) Who was your favorite basketball player growing up? Vince Carter. I was impressed with his ability to dunk the ball and his versatility. Watching him motivated me to pursue the sport that I have loved all my life.

2) Your favorite NBA team? The New York Knicks. I enjoy watching the duo of Carmelo Anthony and JR Smith when they are healthy and actually focusing on winning.

3) Michael Jordan or Lebron James? Of course Michael Jordan, because he changed the game of basketball.

4) Scooby Doo or Snoopy? My man Scooby Doo, because he's always right.

5) Favorite sports movie? Remember the Titans, because of the way they handled adversity as a team.

6) If you weren't going to play professional basketball? I would have a career in Special Forces in the CIA.

7) Favorite food? French fries! I could have french fries with every meal.

8) Nintendo, or Xbox? No doubt, Xbox, the graphics are way better.

9) Something you'd like the fans to know about you. My primary focus regarding my basketball career is to play at the next level professionally and internationally. I have had many accomplishments up to this point in my career and my passion and skill for the game has only increased. There are so many more professionals I want to play with and against at the next level, and I will. I just have to keep working hard and connect with the right people and those doors will open. My motto "Always believe in yourself first."
On Tuesday, February 25th the Grand Rapids Cyclones had their first taste of playing professional basketball in the PBL.

Grand Rapids hosted the Lake Michigan Admirals and almost came out on top. They lost by two points after they committed a foul and the Admirals notched both free throws with one second remaining to win the game.

The Cyclones were very excited to have such a successful game as a member of the league and they will be playing more exhibition games this year to prepare for next season.
