Battle of the Champions Just Weeks Away

Battle of the Champions: Rochester vs. Kentucky

PBL fans, we are less than a month away from the first ever Midwest- Northeast Battle of the Champions between the Rochester RazorSharks and the Kentucky Mavericks.

The RazorSharks will be looking for a third straight PBL Championship this season, but the powerhouse newcomer Kentucky Mavericks may have something to say about it. The Mavericks will be entering their inaugural season in the PBL following a dominating season followed by a championship in the ABA last season.

This offseason the Mavericks relocated from Shreveport to Kentucky and will host all opponents inside the 5,000 seat Owensboro Sportscenter.  The Mavericks this season will be lead by widely renowned Head Coach Steve Tucker. With over 30 years of experience and 500 wins as a college or professional coach, Tucker will look to quickly overthrow the RazorSharks atop the PBL.

Following the lead of newly appointed Head Coach Chris Daleo and veteran guard Jerice Crouch, the RazorSharks will attempt to continue their dominance atop the PBL and win an unprecedented third PBL title in a row.

Coach Daleo is another well-respected and very successful coach within the minor professional basketball world. Coach Daleo has been a part of two CBA conference championship programs as well as three CBA all-star teams.

Most recently, Daleo coached the Champaign Swarm to the 2015 MPBA championship. The RazorSharks will look to combine past successes with Coach Daleo’s winning mentality and hard-nosed playing style.

We all will have front row-seats to potentially one of the best rivalries in PBL history. The Mavericks and the RazorSharks will tip-off this battle of the undefeated champions January 9th at the Owensboro Sportscenter in Kentucky.
